The Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star (or T-Bird) is a US plane monorreactor jet, low-wing, two-seater tandem and retráctel tricycle landing gear. It was produced by Lockheed and made its first flight in 1948, being piloted by Tony LeVier. The T-33 was developed from the Lockheed P-80 / F-80, for an improvement in the fuselage and add a second and a second control. From 1948 to 1959 were produced 6557 T-33, between the variants of the Lockheed own, as well as under license in Japan by Kawasaki and Canada by Canadair.
Also Portugal by the Portuguese Air Force, used this excellent aircraft. First were acquired 35 aircraft. Entered service in 1953 and were slaughtered effective in 1990, having been employed in various units of the Portuguese Air Force: Air Force Base 2, initially, after Air Base # 3, and # 5 in the Air Base in 1961.
In October 1959 were received five aircraft Canadair T-33 AN Silver Star, a Canadian version.
This kit Special Hobby, scale 1:32, provides the basis for construction of the Lockheed T-33A, in the colors of the German Air Force, Dutch, French and North American.
