The Douglas DC-3 was a twin-engine aircraft for civilian use that revolutionized the transport of passengers in the 1930s and 1940s.
The Douglas C-47 Skytrain military version of the Douglas DC-3, was widely used during World War II, becoming a major factor in the Allied victory.
More than 10,000 units have been manufactured in different versions, both for transporting troops or parachutists for the transport of cargo.
Were produced numerous C-47 variants using different engines, equipment or arrangement of the booths.
A variant for the launch of paratroopers was subject to many specific changes which became known as C-53 Skytrooper.
The Royal Air Force (RAF - Air Force of the United Kingdom) used about 2,000 C-47 aircraft, which then became known them as Dakota, by which the aircraft was known almost everywhere in the world.
This Airfix kit is used to build a replica of 1/72 scale, of the Dakota Mk. IV
