The Heinkel He 170 was created in 1937 as an export version of the long-distance reconnaissance He 70 F for Hungary with a license-built Gnome Rhône 14K Mistral Major engine. This fourteen-cylinder radial engine was disguised with a NACA hood. More constructive differences were an adjustable metal three-blade propeller and a rigid tail wheel clad against the retractable skids spur the Hey 70 F. In the rear fuselage was a downward extendable defensive stand (pot). It was a small series for Hungary built and delivered.
