The Airbus A400M Atlas is an aircraft equipped with four TP400-D6 engine, developed by Airbus Military to meet the demands of tactical military transport aircraft. The A400M program was launched in May 2003 with an order for 180 aircraft to seven NATO countries. South Africa joined the program in April 2005 with an order for eight aircraft. In December 2005, Malaysia ordered 4 more aircraft, bringing total orders to 192 units. The prediction was that the A400M made its maiden flight in early 2008, with deliveries commencing in 2009 but its first flight only occur in December 2009, in Seville, Spain. With this, the first deliveries are now scheduled for 2012 and 2013. In late 2009, South Africa canceled its order of 8 units, while other countries remade their logistics and financial plans, as delays succeeded and the price of the aircraft rose considerably.
On September 30, 2013, Airbus delivered the first unit. Went to France, which confirmed the 50 applications provided, 15 immediately.
